Honey Gail

Thursday, April 5th is behind us now and Honey Gail came through her second surgery safe and sound.

Karen drove over from Nashville Wednesday night, and  Jennie joined us at my apartment early Thursday morning, so I had the comfort of two good registered nurses telling me Honey would be fine.

Knowing Mark was keeping careful watch at the hospital went a long way toward easing this old mama's worried mind.

Karen will sit with Honey Friday while Mark is at work ... then she'll return to Nashville Saturday morning.

Honey is scheduled for what they call a post-op check up in six days.  At that time she'll find out if they got the cancer cells they missed in the first surgery.

Seven weeks of radiation should be all that remains up ahead and she says that will be a piece of cake.  She has no time to waste on cancer fears right now.  She and Mark are much too busy building their house in the woods plus they're planning a beach vacation in July.

(Deep breaths here and hold on tight ... I'm trying hard not to lose what tiny bits of my mind might still be functioning.)
