Precious memories ...

During Honey's visit, she and Karen began thinking about camp songs once popular with Brownie Scouts. For instance ... some man with homicidal tendencies offed his wife and his song ended like this:

He sat on her tomb stone and laughed 'til
he cried ... laughed 'til he cried ...
laughed 'til he cri-i-i-ied.

The tomb stone turned over and squish-squash
he died ... squish-squash he died ... squish-
squash he di-i-i-ied.

Those were the only two verses we could remember, but Honey swears Carmen knows every word of that long-ago song. Next visit I'll expect Carmen to prove it.

Another Brownie Scout special - Patti's favorite - included these words:

Oh, if you get to heaven before
I do, please drill a hole and
pull me through.

Oh, if I get to heaven ...
before you do.
I'm gonna fill that hole ...
with Elmer's glue.

Today, those tunes keep running through my semi-functional brain ...
